Teaching in Urban Schools

In the urban areas of our country there are a large number of educational institutions that need the collaboration of volunteer educators who wish to offer their experience and knowledge to the comprehensive training of Ecuador’s students. Each institution is happy to have educators from any specialty, from experienced kindergarten teachers to expert teachers in finance, marketing, medicine, scientific research, etc.

It is very important to keep in mind that you will work with children, youth and adults; accordingly, predisposition to work on a team, to be patient and responsible, and to have a good attitude will be necessary.

In urban areas you can count on good access to transportation, food, healthcare, shopping centers, entertainment, technology, etc. These are very accessible all the time and are available in all cities; we are sure that you will find what you need to feel safe, comfortable, and at home.

During your program, a coordinator will assist and support you before and during your volunteer work.

  • Teaching skills.
  • Leadership to work with groups.

Achieving comprehensive training from its inception is the greatest challenge for a developing country. Therefore, the collaboration of education professionals and volunteers is essential for children, adolescents, and adults to achieve a good professional future. The Fundación Educativa Superior collaborates with schools, colleges, and universities in urban areas so that its students achieve a quality education.
Your responsabilities during the program
  • Be on time for every class.
  • Plan complementary activities for every class.
  • Focus on students with greater learning difficulties and help them.
  • Help design teaching methods, curriculum, didactic material, etc.

Program includes:

  • Airport pick-up upon arrival and transfer to accommodation in Quito.

  • Orientation about the city, on your first day.

  • Orientation seminar before starting the volunteer program.
  • Welcome kit.

  • Transportation by public bus to your project.

  • Organization of your accommodation and meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

  • Consistent coordination during the project.

  • 24/7 emergency contact.

  • Assistance to obtain a visa for longer than 6 months of stay in Ecuador if you participate with the program during this time.

  • Participation certificate.

Programs does not include:

  • International flights or domestic flights.

  • Accommodation with an Ecuadorian family during the program (you must pay for your accommodation in advance).

  • Travel expenses during the project.

  • Travel insurance.

  • Additional activities.

  • Wifi / Phone calls (All Ecuadorian families provide WiFi service free of charge).

  • Personal expenses.
