Accommodation

Please note that we are an Educative Foundation not supported from our national Government, and are not able to provide food or accommodation for our volunteers. Your food and accommodation for staying with an Ecuadorian family has to be fully paid by you in advance, before starting with your volunteer participation.

While working with us here in Ecuador, our volunteer educators will be staying with Ecuadorian families located as close to their workplace as possible.

Each local family has been carefully selected and trained to offer a good experience to our volunteers while at their home. Every volunteer will be provided with a private room, will receive 3 meals per day every day of the week, from Monday to Sunday, from first day of arrival in the family until the last day, when volunteers depart from the family.

While staying with a family you will act as a regular member of the family, sharing time and learning about their mentality, culture, and traditions. Due to our culture, we ask each educational volunteer to maintain the strictest respect for their host family’s beliefs. Volunteers can collaborate with the family around what the family needs (except money), but without trying to alter their religious beliefs or customs of our culture.

We understand very well that while in more developed nations, the mentality of people is very open, our culture is different, and there are situations that the community here might consider as a lack of morality. In addition, the abuse of alcohol is also not permitted during your stay with one of our designated families. We are interested in making sure that you understand the importance of these cultural considerations so you understand how to respect our citizens and the families partnering with the FES volunteer programs, and to ensure that you are able to create good relationships with the people you meet here.

Ecuadorians are people of peace, our country is considered the safest country in Latin America, our people are very friendly and we are sure that it will be an excellent experience for you.
